A friend of ours little girl is turning 2 this month so we attended the b-day party and Isabella while almost the youngest was taller than the two boys that were there who are 4 to 6 months older! My girl hamming it up and then trying to get all the 2 and unders to pose for a photo, as you can see not very successful. Isabella would not sit on the couch without her daddy and you can see how funny he thought the whole situation was.

I am so not good at updating this blog and I am sorry for those who do check back. Here is my little girl: in her party dress for her friend's 1st b-day, after picking strawberries (well, to be accurate she sat on my lap while I knelt on the ground picking strawberries and she was eating them as fast as she could hence the juice all over her clothes) and eating some berries with whip cream. Then I had to include a photo of my first baby or a recent photo of my Polo!!

First Haircut

Well, since she refused to keep a hairclip in her hair I had to break down and take her to get her first haircut. I was very aprehensive about it, would it be a nightmare experience? Could I handle my baby getting her hair chopped off? Okay to those non parents it might seem a bit dramatic but practically everything becomes slightly dramatic when it comes to your baby who is now a toddler!

I will say once I got over the initial shock of seeing her with bangs, I think she looks pretty darn cute with them. Now she does not have to swipe the hair off her face so she can see and it was not a huge drama with tears on my part or hers.

Now this was not technically Isabella's first snowfall but it is the first one she could actually enjoy somewhat. She was not too sure about it that will change next year!

You will also see one photo she is standing next to me and then when I tried to snap another one she fell - much to my amusement!

Walking

Well, not too long after Thanksgiving Isabella started walking everywhere! Now she is even running but tends to fall. They are so amazing though we have also suffered a few bruises now.

There is a photo here of her Nana pulling her in the diaper box, that was great fun for Isabella.

Halloween

I almost forgot to include Halloween, how silly of me. Isabella was a little blue princess and enjoyed playing with her friend Sophia who was chicken. They were so cute but I don't have a photo of them together!

1st birthday

Isabella celebrated her first birthday in early November though she did not know why everyone was singing to her. She did enjoy her friends coming over, Sophia, Maya and Dylan.

For Thanksgiving Isabella and I flew to Texas to see my brother and his family. Isabella had a great time with her cousins who are 7 1/2, 5 1/2 and 4. She was walking a little bit but enjoyed the stairs more than anything at their house. She got quite good climbing them.

October 07

In October of this year we took a plane ride to Rhode Island for a friend's wedding and Isabella was quite the hit. She was sooooo good on the plane and even though she did not sleep much the whole weekend she really was such a good girl at the wedding.

When we flew back the whole family was exhausted and poor Isabella got her first ear infection. That made for a very long week for her parents.

October also brought her first taste of Mac n Cheese and a beautiful rocking chair that was her tia's (aunt's) when she was little! She loves that chair and has since figured out how to climb in and out of it in the past few weeks (early December).

Well, it has been awhile since I have posted anything and I swear I tried but the site was down when I tried to upload photos! Then here we are two months later and the holidays are next week!

Isabella has been a very busy girl, we shall start here with her sporting a t-shirt to promote Daddy's restaurant.

Beach Dress

Isabella appropriately got a beach dress from her aunt and we think she just looks so cute in the bright blue. Here she is showing off her ability to stand up using the coffee table in our house.

Zeus

My sister has a great dog, Zeus, who as you can see is a golden retriever. He is very good with his own kids so I knew he would be good to Isabella and she was so thrilled that this dog would actually let her touch him. My dog, my beloved Polo, is not so enchanted or thrilled with Ms. Isabella. When she gets close enough to him he moves though if she has any food he is happy to "lift" it from her hand.

These photos were taken our last day and it is the view from my sister's house on the Gulf of Mexico. The lens got foggy from the humidity in the air but I just love how Zeus is standing guard over my little girl.

Isabella was fascinated by her cousins and loved to put her hands on her cousin Thor's face. She was equally fascinated by her cousin Ava so much so that she kept trying to poke her pretty hazel eyes!

It has been awhile since my last post and all I can say is that it has been a little busy. Isabella took her first plane trip on July 23 to Alabama to visit her aunt Deirdre and her cousins - Thor (5) and Ava (3).

I think I was the most stressed before we left trying to pack for myself, Isabella, be sure the dog had his stuff to visit a friend, and then be sure we had everything at the airport. I was exhausted as was my husband when we did arrive! Then I had to travel back by myself with my active little 9 month old. Who started crawling while at my sister's house. So, here are some photos of her at the beach and one with her aunt, my lovely sister.

Isabella got all dressed up to celebrate a friend's daughter's graduation from Duke University! She also celebrated getting her first tooth! Mommy saw it finally broke through on June 29!

You will also see from the various photos that it took mommy and daddy a few tries to get her to look at the camera. The best one being mommy behind her nibbling on her back trying to get a smile!

Well, Isabella got to take a dip in a pool for the first time. She was not crazy about it at first as the water was a bit chilly and I was holding her. But once she got use to the temperature and then we put her in her float she really enjoyed it. She used her little legs to kick away!

I love this hat! She is not too thrilled when I put it on her but a girl has to protect that soft skin! Then when I got her the sunglasses boy does she pitch a fit. Not sure if it is the darkness over her eyes or just the fact that something is on her face like that. But once again a mommy has to do what she has to do to protect her little girl.

motherhood

I am very happy to share that one of my dear friends just had a baby girl yesterday, May 29, I am thrilled to have her join me in motherhood. I have always loved babies and children and I completely adore my nieces and nephews but having your own baby is something you cannot explain to anyone. I know that I heard that before I had Isabella but it is hard to grasp the joy you feel when you see that little baby. Then when they smile and oh how the heart melts when you hear their giggle.

Sorry, to gush to those that are not mothers or fathers who are visiting but it is nice to have some friends who understand why you have not had the chance to properly clean the house in weeks, or why you cannot remember anything anymore without writing it down or why when you reach into your purse you now find a pacifier!

Now I also appreciate my non parent friends especially since many of them are parents to their four legged babies. I may have one baby girl but I also have my puppy (4 yr old mutt) and my beautiful kitties. So, just to share some photos of them...

Isabella is quite fond of her ultrasaucer. She loves to spin around and recently she takes great joy in bouncing up and down. Mommy loves those chubby legs!

Prunes

Well, Isabella loves her bananas but she is not crazy about applesauce & pears. She gets a very funny look on her face and spits it back out. So, mommy introduced prunes today to see how that would go. Well, she didn't not think twice about and there was no funny face so not sure if it is a consistency thing but here she is with prunes on her face!

One of our cats decided she needed to check out what Isabella was eating. She went belly up when mommy told her to back off as she tried to walk onto the highchair tray. She is no small cat so she might have tipped it over! Gotta love the animals. Isabella sure is fascinated by both cats and our dog.

This very cute shirt was given to Isabella by a friend of ours, Jocelyne, and it was finally warm enough for her to wear it. Of course that was over a week ago but hopefully the weather will warm up again soon so she can wear it again.

Yumm, rice cereal

Okay, so maybe rice cereal is not exciting to us but to Isabella it sure is yummy. We introduced it almost a month ago and we have now progressed to having it once a day and boy does she gobble it down. She even gets a bit upset with her mommy if I don't spoon it fast enough.

She also has to show her independence by trying to hold the spoon herself. But being only 4 1/2 months old if mom lets her hold the spoon it promptly ends up on the floor. Polo, our dog, has not yet discovered that food can drop from the highchair. But when that day comes he will adore her!

Texas Cousins

Well, Isabella and I had a busy week last week as her cousins from Texas were visiting. I don't get to see my brother and his family often so it was a special treat to have them come to visit. It was my eldest nephews spring break and boy did we have some great weather while they were here. Isabella loved to look at the faces of her cousins and at least the two older ones were just as enamored. My three old nephew did not care as much as his siblings but no feelings were hurt.

Isabella especially loved to "chat" with her aunt Darcie and gave lots of smiles to her uncle Brian. Though we miss them my cat, Winnie, does not seem to miss being chased by a three year old - Carson just loves my kitty. And thanks to this same child my dog has been renamed from Polo to Pillow! You just have to love kids.

Isn't she just so beautiful! Marco and I think so but we are her parents. I am able to load these photos since she is still sleeping after taking our dog for a walk. I have also been able to get quite a bit of work done this morning which is not a usual occurence. Yesterday she hardly slept during the day.

We went to the pediatrician this week and we have one tall girl. She is not 25 inches long and at 3 months that puts her in the 95%. Of course I had no idea what that meant even after my siblings having kids but now I understand this to mean that she is taller than 95% of other 3 month olds. She is also 14 lbs but she really does not have the baby rolls of fat.

She is growing out of clothes like most babies so now I have to start getting 9 mo size stuff for her. I do wonder if she will keep up this growth race. When I went into her room to get her she was sideways her in crib. So, she is not only rolling to the side but is rotating in her crib! Babies are amazing.

Here she is again except now she is 2 1/2 months old in this photo. She is a long baby and seems to be much bigger than other babies that are near her age. She was 12 lbs and 23 1/4 inches long on December 22.

Well, I have decided to go with the trend of having a blog and I feel it is extremely appropriate to title the first one after my beautiful daughter Isabella. She joined us three months ago and is a huge joy to myself and my husband.

We love her smile, laugh and those adorable cheeks. It makes the lack of sleep I suffered the first 6 weeks completely worth it.
